Ymca Hilltop Educare Center

The YMCA Hilltop Educare Center exists for the purpose of providing an educational childcare environment for children. Our collective spirit is characterized by Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in an affirming, nurturing environment. We are supportive of each individual child as we provide developmentally appropriate activities in a safe, interactive, Hands-on learning environment. We foster learning that supports the individual choices and styles of children. We are respectful of the beliefs, values, and cultural diversity of the children and their families. We encourage involvement and participation of parents, staff members, and others in the on-going growth of the center. We strive toward a partnership of caring as staff members and parents.

Our program is accredited by NAEYC. This means the program has voluntarily gone through a vigorous and comprehensive self-study process to ensure that the center is in compliance with all of the Academy s criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programming. After the self-study, the accreditation process involves a trained Early Childhood Professional from another organization/program visiting the program to review the self-study and verify compliance of the NAEYC criteria.

Our program participates in Ohio s Early Childhood Quality Initiative. Step Up to Quality is a voluntary child care quality rating system designed to support and recognize licensed child care centers for exceeding quality benchmarks set forth by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Bureau of Child Care Services. Quality benchmarks include staff to child ratios, staff training and qualifications, specialized training, administrative practices and the program s early learning curriculum.
