Y Family Daycare

We are an in-home daycare providing care for children 2months-12yrs. We are open from 6am-6pm. We are flexible in accommodating to your schedule if needed. Our teaching philosophy is primarily influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach, the Constructivist Approach, and Child Centered Interests and Investigations to inspire a life-long love for learning and discovery. When children are interested in what they are learning about it compels them to want to investigate more and can branch off into several other studies. This type of learning is meaningful and resonates. We believe in expression through art and music, much of which your children will be involved in while they are in our care.
In our daycare, we will use the approaches mentioned above to work on building independence, self-help skills, gross and fine motor skills, self-feeding and drinking, how to use the potty, using nice words, playing with friends and sharing, creativity, sensory activities, along with many more activities. We have a passion for art and sensory activities so the children will be able to have a lot of that. During the day, your child will be engaging in developmental activities based on planned weekly themes. We will have special occasion activities planned throughout the year. While children are very curious and become more independent, they are still learning and sometimes may not make the right choices. We have a positive discipline procedure for children to learn acceptable behavior. We will use a calm, firm voice and gently redirect them when needed. If your child continues to hit or push, they may be separated for a short time until they can calm down and use gentle hands. We also offer a free nutrition program.
