Background & Qualifications-

Kate has acted as a writing consultant for over 10 years. After earning her bachelor's and master's degrees, concentrating in writing composition, rhetoric and education. Kate worked as a high school English teacher for 7 years. Working in this environment developed Kate's ability to engage and coach a variety of students, using individualized methods to meet the needs of each of her students. Currently, Kate is the Writing Center Director at a high performing public high school where she guides students through the entire writing process, teaching valuable skills in a way that encourages their retention. Client feedback consistently includes mention of Kate's thoughtful approach, including her willingness to give honest, detailed feedback, her creativity and ability to think of fresh concepts while brainstorming and editing, and the clear passion she has for what she does.
