Hello, my name is Danielle Warren and I am really excited about starting a mini home daycare! I have recently resigned from my past position as a school counselor to stay home to care for my two children; ages 6 months and 3 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State University, and have also earned a Master 's degree in Social Work from Clevland State University. I am currently a Licensed Social Worker. I have provided counseling services to children, youth and families in the local school district, completed an internship in a daycare setting, and have coached gymnastics to children ages 3-12 for 5 years. I am looking to provide part time and/or after school care to one or two additional children in a structured yet flexible environment.
The home daycare setting allows children to socialize, develop relationships and learn while decreasing exposure to infectious agents, poor food, and rigidity as may be encountered at a typical daycare facility. I aim to encourage development, growth and individuality through enrichment activities, physical exercise and art activities in a safe, fun and clean environment! The child's age and developmental level will be taken into consideration for all activities; some activities include yoga, painting, story time, singing and dancing and plenty of hands on activities such as making play dough! I believe that children should be able to be themselves through play and exploration, as well as through participation in structured activities. When the weather permits children will spend plenty of time in the private backyard, and will participate in nature walks, scavenger hunts and other types of outdoor games/sports. To assist children increase independence and self competence while gently encouraging basic rule compliance, positive reinforcement will be used as much as possible throughout the day! Basically, I am flexible and willing to work with families to create a space that is conducive to the needs of the children in my care. I am also happy to assist with potty training needs and am willing to prepare wholesome meals and snacks including vegetarian and vegan cuisines!
A daily routine will be established including circle time, snack times, lunch time and nap time, as permitted by the childs age and developmental ability. Parents will receive daily logs and a weekly lunch menu. Drop off/pick up times can be determined by the families ' needs. Ohio does not require licensure for 4 kids max.
