About
Whole Hearted Early Learning Center (WHELC) is a licensed play-based and community focused at home center located in Clinton. WHELC emphasizes the importance of viewing each child as an individual. We serve families with children between the ages of 2.9-4 years old.
The Head Teacher for our PreK program has over 7 years experience teaching within PreK and Kindergarten. She holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and has a passion for working with children. Her dedication to her family and to the field of early childhood education are what brought her out of the public school setting and into our PreK program here at WHELC.
We practice a hybrid of approaches to teaching and follow the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum along with the CT ELDS. We focus on all areas of development and believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences. We are mindful of each student's needs and interests, so you may see a little Reggio Emilia, a dash of Montessori, and a sprinkle of High Scope topped with Waldorf within our PreK work and environment.
