About Westwood Hills Preschool:
Westwood Hills Preschool began serving our neighborhood in 1941. In the midst of World War II, the church sought to support women and families by offering a nursery school to provide a unique, caring environment for children during a tumultuous time. From the beginning, the values of community, inclusivity, and care have been part of our mission.
We are committed to honoring the early years in a child's life, recognizing that they are crucial to later learning. We believe that each child should experience a safe and nurturing environment and trusting community that promote a collaborative approach to independent thinking, problem solving, and self-esteem. We incorporate our children's interests in our emergent way of teaching and learning, allowing for self-discovery and the strengthening of each child's unique individuality.
We value our surrounding neighborhood's diversity and enjoy the opportunity to experience it with the children, as we encourage them to become good citizens of the world. Our community engages in many activities that encourage family participation and celebrate diversity.
