Wee Play Family Childcare

I run a licensed Family child care home for children from 6 weeks of age through preschool. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in Child Development. My program seeks to support the advancement of well-adjusted, positive and confident individuals through the development of social and cognitive skills and abilities by supporting and encouraging play and interaction with peers and adults within a natural learning environment.

I recognize the importance of continuity and consistency between the child's home and the daycare environment and desire to be a partner with the parent in order to provide the child with experiences that support his/her physical, social, cognitive and emotional needs. It is my belief that the consistency of one caregiver in a home setting throughout early childhood provides the child with the emotional stability, social skills and confidence to succeed in life.

My curriculum is largely child driven. Children learn best from play and are most invested and interested in learning when they are allowed to make choices and decisions about their own experiences. I provide the children with a variety of toys and activities including arts and crafts, music and movement, story time, outdoor/active play, dramatic play and kindergarten readiness.

Infants are provided with a lot of attention and interaction. I practice safe sleeping techniques with regular opportunities for tummy time and activities to promote healthy development and attachment.

I hold a current Medication Administration, Universal Standards, and CPR and First Aid Certificates. My home and business is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1984 and does not discriminate against persons with special needs.
