In-Home Daycare

Hello! It is my belief at Wee Logic that my most important role as caregiver is to ensure that all of our children feel unconditional love and acceptance. I recognize that all people, including children, are more motivated by feelings of belonging and significance than they are by external rewards and punishments. Early childhood is an important time for the development of child-directed play and socialization. Children learn best through everyday organic experiences; like pretending, building, painting, dancing, singing, cooking, exploring, and discovering. I want them to have fun, get messy, challenge their bodies, and use their critical thinking skills every day.
As children begin to become self-reliant, they need opportunities for practicing new skills and exploring their abilities within a safe environment. I believe that having a schedule for children allows them (and their parents) the comfort of predicting what will happen next. Our daily schedule is very flexible, however, to allow for unplanned events or other opportunities that may arise throughout the day. All of the children and I go outside twice everyday to play in the yard or go on a neighborhood walk as long as weather permits us to do so.
Our curriculum is play-based and emergent during the afternoon and early morning hour. I take notice of each child's interests and provide opportunities that expand on those interests. Overtime, based on my knowledge of children, I have developed a curriculum that includes planting and growing, our five senses, the weather, seasons, the solar system, holidays, animals and life cycles, insects, our community, our families, our bodies, and our emotions.
I introduce the toddlers and preschoolers to many concepts and activities that will give them an excellent platform for kindergarten; patterns, rhyming, letter and number recognition, shape recognition, colors, pre-writing and reading, opposites, holding a writing utensil, tracing, and using scissors for cutting.
Additionally, we become familiar with the sign language alphabet, which aids in fine motor skills as well as early Spanish greetings and mannerisms. I encourage learning in these areas by using everyday experiences like walking down the street noticing numbers and letters, singing funny rhyming songs together, or sitting in a pattern during circle time.
Healthy planned menus! School tote bag provided! Open door policy and a home filled much love and respect. Thank you for your reading.
