Village Nursery

We are reinventing how nursery school should be experienced. Village Nursery is licensen with the Virginia Department of Social Services. Nursery School provides care from 6 weeks through preschool. This nursery is unique because it combines the best of Early Childcare Education; which includes Montessori Education, Waldorf and Forest Kindergarten. Our days are filled with outdoor exportation, baking, learning basics independent skills, imaginative play and learning how to be kind. Young babies are held and worn in a baby sling, until ready to join the action. Each child has an individual lesson plan, which is tailored to his or her individual learning styles and needs. Everything in nursery has been intensely researched, time tested and has been made with the highest standards of safety, quality and care. One of the first things you might notice will be the wooden toys, cotton soft plush floor pillows and silk play clothes. We are striving for an all natural environment for our little villagers to grow and flourish in. We ask that all our villagers ages one through fives years old to bring pair of rain boots, a rain jacket for outdoor exploration. We also need warm outdoor clothes during the cold season, such as a warm water proof coat or bunting, mittens ( not gloves) and boots. We live by the Norwegian Motto: "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes." We respect every mothers individual choices, which includes, breastfeeding, cloth diapers and organic lifestyle. Our little villagers enjoy planting, tending and gathering seasonal herbs and veggies. We gather fresh eggs from our hen coop for our families to enjoy together. We have three Buff Orpington hens name Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and June Carter Cash. Johnny Cash is our Bishson Frise/Poddle mix. He is very friendly and hypoallergenic. Little ones will love playing in our outdoor gardens and mud kitchen. (Coming Soon) Village Nursery does not provide meals at this time. We do provide Organic Milk (as much as he or she wants) and we bake together at least once or twice a week. We also make soup together during the cold season. Village Nursery cares not only about the little ones in care, but for the whole family. We love our wonderful parents, cherish grandparents, beloved siblings and loving extended families. We have an open door policy and encourage families to join us on our seasonal field trips.
