Middle school and late elementary school is when kids start to test the boundaries and increasing peer pressure is not the best recipe for them to be home alone after school until someone gets home for work. I would love to help you within that space. That 1 to 2 or even 3 hours after school that your child could have been getting homework done, but instead decided to hang out with friends. These preteen years are critical, in my opinion, for shaping their future choices.

During the day I work as a substitute teacher's aide and tutor for various schools in Santa Clara county. Both in General Ed. and Special Ed. I have experience working with emotional disorders and learning disabilities

I would like to open my home to local school age children for after school care. K thru 8th grade. I currently have a 1st grader, 3rd grader and 6th grader on various days of the week. (and sometimes more)

I am capable and more than willing to help with homework as needed and will have supplies available.

I will provide nutritious snacks (and meal(s) if necessary)

My home is set up for your child to have a quiet place to do homework and then play when they are done. They are plenty of kids around to play with, and if they are busy that day then we can walk across the street to the school to play on the field. Soccer, Baseball, Frisbee. Or we can do indoor games if that is your child's choice. We are pretty flexible here.

I can also be available evenings/weekends for my fellow college attendees. I currently attend San Jose City College. The only day that I am not available is Thursday nights (after 5:45 pm) (just until end of semester/May).

I am finger printed and background checked via my current employment.
I have references from teachers and parents regarding my responsibility, capability, reliability and professionalism.

Fees are:
$20 for the first hour.
$10 each hour beyond.

For example: if you need 3 hours, that would be $40 (one child),
4 hours = $50,
5 hours = $60.
