Hello! My name is Valerie. A preschool teacher for four years, and a Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten teacher for five years, I'm now on maternity leave after becoming a mother for the first time.

I obtained my Master's Degree is Child Development from CSULA and am currently working on my PhD from UCR. I have a cleared Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the state of California, possess a Child Development Director permit, and am first aid and CPR certified. I speak basic Spanish and have training to teach students with special needs.

With my enormous collection of teaching resources, manipulatives, and learning tools here at home, I'm fully equipped to care for your child, providing fun and enriching learning experiences, as well as homework assistance in the classroom setting in my loft. A full working and cleanly kitchen means I can prepare meals and snacks provided by you.

I am authorized to care for children from one family at a time, in addition to my own infant, who will be present throughout the day. Therefore, your child will receive individualized care and education catered to their needs.

Preschool Care
I am prepared to provide a program that appropriately challenges your child's cognitive development. I will introduce basic literacy skills, and with the help of a fantastic program called Zoo Phonics, your child will be on their way toward reading! I practice number sense, as well as beginning addition and subtraction using Saxon math curriculum. And with daily penmanship and writing practice, your child will be able to begin transferring their spoken sentences into written ones! A nearby park in my tract hosts a structure and play area with padding beneath it, as well as a basketball court that will provide proper daily physical development. Social and emotional skills are taught via puppets and skits, in addition to real life situations. Most importantly, I love teaching new concepts using a combination of art activities and music.

After School Care
I'm available to pick-up your little one(s) from their nearby school and provide quality after school care at my home.

Tutoring
Whether occasion or regular tutoring is needed, I can assist in providing understanding in all subjects.
