Before starting Vagabond Mutt, I worked for 17 years as a trainer, keeper, and show performer for places such as Disney's Animal Kingdom, Sea World, and Discovery Cove in Florida, San Francisco Zoo, and the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. I have trained animals as diverse as birds, 2-toed sloths, large cats, lemurs, camels, and kangaroos. At Sea World, one of my favorite activities was introducing dogs and other species to each other. (I found that Beluga whales and walruses particularly enjoyed visiting with dogs.) Along with my keeper duties, it included providing a wide range of medical care to this menagerie as well.
I am a believer in ongoing education and professional development, I attended the dog tec Dog Walking Academy before launching Vagabond Mutt. The only program of its kind for dog walkers, this widely respected program covers a comprehensive array of topics critical to professional dog walking, including canine behavior, basic training, group management, and safety protocols.
I only use positive, humane, scientifically-sound training methods when working with the dogs in my care. My training background allows me to train dogs to walk nicely on leash together. This keeps them safe while they practice good manners. So if you are ready to come home to a well behaved dog after he been on his hour long walk/ hike, who hasn't spent all day chewing on couch cushions, counting the minutes until you come home, send your dog out with us and enjoy the difference regular exercise can make.
Step 1. The right match. We match your dog to friends his own size and energy level, so he can enjoy the company of canine compatriots while he exercises. We keep groups small to ensure safety and lots of attention for all.

Step 2. Daily adventures. We pick up your dog and his new friends and set off for a minimum of an hour on-leash walk in Vacaville parks and neighborhoods. We vary our routes to keep things exciting and full of new smells, sights, and experiences for your dog to enjoy.

Step 3. A tired dog. We deliver your dog home safe, sound, and pooped. He'll be waiting for you when you get home, ready for a relaxing evening of calm companionship.
