Tyson Place

Tyson Place is in the process of spearheading an effort to improve the educational viability of the East Greensboro community. Our plan involves a family-centered approach to education that involves 1) early childhood education, 2) removing the achievement gap with school-aged youth (elementary through high school), 3) parent and caregivers education that includes business readiness courses, parenting course work and a 5-year life plan that also includes their children.

We are able to provide the following services:

Some healthcare services to include respiratory therapy for asthma families
Early education for pre-schoolers with extended hours for most work shifts
Transportation services for children and their families
Limited free childcare for families in homeless shelters and in displaced environments
CFCAP a program that ensures all families we serve get three healthy meals a day
Creative curriculum for early learners which allows for individualized education plan with measurable goals
Large outdoor natural play space for children
Monthly Newsletters to families and partners
Focus on removing the achievement gap
S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) based tutoring which helps ensuring higher graduate rates for high school students
Equipping high school graduates with a ten year life plan
Police sensitivity training which ensure the correct approach to life situations that need police involvement
Job readiness and entrepreneurial education opportunities for parents
9,500 square foot child care center with capacity for 120 early learners
