Tiny Beginnings

Hello! My name is Amy Jo. I am a newborn / infant nanny. I am able to provide part-time childcare. I specialize in working with infants and toddlers from newborn-24 months of age. I have a passion for working with with this age group and have 20+ years of education/experience.

I am a mom of 4 children and I have 20+ years working in a variety of educational settings which include child care centers, churches, schools, camps, in-home childcare, and recreational programs. I also have my Associate's degree in Child Care and Development and a 2 Year Teaching Certificate in Piano Pedagogy. In my spare time, I volunteer in children's ministry in the nursery and preschool rooms at my church. I also hope very soon to continue my early childhood education by studying to be a Newborn Care Specialist.

I love working with children! Starting in September 2015, I look forward to providing quality care to infants and toddlers in my care and making a difference in their lives! I love to provide a fun, safe, clean, caring, and creative early learning environment where children can grow and learn! Each child is special and unique so providing a variety of experiences is important physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. Providing inside and outside activities on a daily basis is also important for children to explore and learn. Stories, music, art, large muscle and small muscle activities, floor time, imagination fun, outside exploration, feeding and diapering time, and cuddling and napping times are some of the activities that will be provided.

I feel that taking care of infants and toddlers in their own home environment is the ideal situation for them to receive quality care. Also, because of the needs of infants and toddlers and their daily routine with meals, sleeping, diaper changing, and learning times, I feel it is important to be flexible with daily schedules. Communication with parents and working as a team to provide the best care for your child/children is also vitally important!
