I believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child s strengths, interests and curiosities, I guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
My program is centered around children six weeks to 5 years old. I use a curriculum centered around the Illinois Birth to Three and Illinois Early Childhood Education Standards. I am currently pursuing my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Southwestern Illinois University.
I had a hard time finding an actual preschool program for my own children. The programs I did find were too expensive, did not take CHASI, or did not fit my schedule. Most daycares have a daily schedule, but as we all know, there is not much time for individual attention due to the child teacher ratios.
That is one of the reasons I decided to open an in home child care environment focusing on the milestones and enrichment for infants, a self directed play/learning environment for the 2's, and a preschool program for children 3 to 5 years.
