Clay camps at Thrown Elements Pottery are fun, energetic, artistic and experiential outlets for children ages 5-17. Each session focuses on different age-appropriate projects and teaches new skills based on the theme. Sign up for as many sessions as you'd like--there's always something new and exciting!
Kids "ala carte" camps-for students ages 5-13
Morning, Afternoon, all Day, or All Week!
Registrations are required and will be honored on a first come first serve basis, and are appreciated 2 weeks in advance of any camp. Check our website (http://www.thrownelementspottery.com/SummerCampsBrochure2012.pdf) for each day's theme.
*Morning Session: Hand building with wet clay 10:00-12:30
*Lunch 12:30-1:00 (bring your own) (Free Day's include a pizza party!)
*Afternoon Session: Glazing/ Painting Projects and Techniques 1:00-3:00
PRICING*
$35 "ala carte" workshops
$65 per day (am and pm 10am-3pm) - you bring lunch!
$125 all week (M-Th) for morning or afternoon workshops
$225 all week (M-Th) all day (10-3)
$200 TEP family six-pack: you choose theme and six sessions; pre-registration required
Teen Camps - for students ages 10-17
We offer three sessions, the first 2 are four week sessions where you pick the 2 days a week you would like to attend. We know you're busy, so you choose the two days-- m, t, w or th--that work best for you from 3-5pm.
*June 11 - July 5
*July 9 - Aug 2
The third session is an intensive 2 week program.
*Aug 6 - Aug 16 (2 week intensive - come M-Th for 2 weeks)
$250 per session*
*Discounts offered for multiple camps and sibling registrations: 10% for 2 or more teen camp sessions when registered at the same time.
*We can accommodate missed sessions and vacation schedules with make-up classes and pro-rated pricing.
Week 1-- Pinch pots, slabs and coils
Basic form and hand building techniques, handles, additions and sgraffito
Week 2--Centering and cylinders
Basic wheel throwing, hollow forms and slip trailing
Week 3--Altering the cylinder
Altering shapes and mastering lid makings
Week 4--Glazing
Dipping, layering of color, wax resist and sgraffito
