In-Home Daycare
48 Bedford Rd, Newport News, VA 23601
I recently removed my son from a very good, very expensive, Christian pre-school/day care. My reasons are personal, but they have led me to making the decision to keep my 3 year old little boy at home until kindergarten, finish my Masters in Child Psychology, and get licensed through Old Dominion to teach grades K-12 . I should have a teaching degree by May of 2016.
I have dedicated my dining room to safe play space, and the rest of the house is "kid-proof" as well. The yard is already fenced in, and I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood, that I have been in my whole life, so I KNOW ALL MY NEIGHBORS :)
I would like to provide economical child care to four children, who need a little learning while they play, eat, and nap! You can send any game plan you want, and I will do my best to accommodate.
I have a 3 year old son and an 11 year old daughter. We have had experience with allergies, blankies, diapers, potty training, eating, feedings, emotions, attitudes!, homework, bedtimes, naptimes, you name it, I have dealt with it and won!
I tried to go back to work full time, but I am just not cut out for the mainstream world! I just want to spend time with my family and be a good mom.
I decided to do this so that my son could have some interactions with other kids without me being worried.
I also want him to keep learning so I am putting my skills to the test and I am going to continue his education, so your child's education will no doubt be enhanced just by being in the environment.
We're gonna do breakfast at around 7:45 am, outside from 11:00 am until noon, and then lunch and naps/quiet time/yoga, whatever your child does, until I about 2-2:30 pm. But, like I said, if there are special needs, I will work it out. Snack time is kind of all day.
I would prefer children be picked up before 5:15 pm, and in the mornings, no drop-offs before 6:00 am. This is Monday through Friday.
I have several buses, such as Hilton Elementary and Hines Middle, that stop two doors down, and I can see the stop from the porch. I stand at the front door for my daughter's bus every day. So, I would consider providing just before and after school care, if that's all you need.
"School time" will be from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. Just basic stuff you would want your child to know...alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.
Your child will never be forced to participate, everything will always be at the parents' pace.
Thank You Kindly,
Nellie
