The Sanctuary at Stonehaven is a premier assisted living home nestled in a quiet Charlotte, North Carolina neighborhood offering all the benefits of assisted living in a residential environment.

We recognize that some seniors want to remain in their homes as they age but are precluded from doing so due to changing needs. In designing The Sanctuary at Stovehaven, we sought to combine all of the luxuries of home with the highest standard of excellence in care. Our commitment is to provide families with peace ofmind, knowing that your loved one is comfortable, engaged, safe, and respected. Our competent staff, comprised of Certified Nursing Assistants, Med Techs, an Activity Director and Chef take care of everything: nutritious meals, medication management, daily housekeeping, hygiene assistance, and recreation. The home is staffed at all times and strictly adheres to a 3:1 resident to caregiver ratio. Unlike larger assisted living facilities, that means a maximum of six residents have immediate access to two caregivers. Depth of Relationships = Better Care. Whereas a large assisted living facility may have a typical resident to caregiver ratio of 10:1 or 20:1, our home allows each caregiver to provide individual attention to a small number of residents, a maximum of 6. We encourage our caregivers to sit on the couch with a resident, watch a movie together, and share stories. We believe our caregivers are more satisfied, less stressed because they are afforded the freedom and energy to build real bonds with residents. The result is a family-like atmosphere in which everyone thrives. No big-box assisted living facility can facilitate the same depth of relationships. More personalized caregiving also means issues in health or behavior can be detected more quickly, allowing us to notify family and the appropriate medical professionals. Easier Transition to Assisted Living. Letting go of the freedom you once enjoyed and transitioning from your home to assisted living can be difficult. This is particularly true of large facilities - constantly being surrounded by dozens of strangers, moving from your home into a small room or apartment, sticking to a set schedule, and eating in a cafeteria instead of your dining room is not easy for anyone, especially not for the elderly and those with cognitive challenges.
