I am a Maryland certified teacher, reading specialist and learning consultant with a private practice serving the southern Maryland area. I specialize in guiding the literacy development and overall academic achievement of children who are struggling to learn to read and write proficiently. Among my clients are students with special needs such as learning disabilities, autism, asperger's syndrome, attention deficit disorders and speech delays. When I meet a new client, I begin our work together by administering a series of assessments designed to pinpoint exact strengths and needs. The results are then used to develop and implement a custom-designed instructional program, uniquely tailored to the individual child. Sessions are an hour long and occur between one and three times per week, depending on the severity of difficulty your child is experiencing.

Fee for initial assessment: $120.

Hourly rate for one-on-one instruction, depending on location.

Lesson location: my home office, local library, or your home.

Additional services provided:

* Instruction in study, note-taking, organizational skills, & standardized test preparation

* Tutoring in all levels of French, beginning Spanish, and other academic subjects

* School & IEP team consultations, including written reports detailing your child's specific strengths and needs.

* College counseling
