About the business
I've owned dogs my entire life, and have been sitting/caring for dogs for the past 8 years, and decided to open The Proper Pup in 2016.
I currently do not have any pets of my own, since my Bassett Hound (and BEST friend) "Buford" passed away in June 2014. After becoming suddenly ill, we cared for him around the house for three days, until a complete lack of eating & energy led me to take him to the Emergency Pet Clinic in Jackson (1 min away - Across the street from my neighborhood, FYI), where they performed constant testing and kept him on fluids/medications for the next 3 days. After the third day, his results came back showing he had developed "a strong diabetic-like sickness". After having no success bringing him back to even one-percent of his normal self, we transferred him to his lifelong veterinarian clinic in town. The doctor explained that Buford could be fed & medicated through an I.V. every day and MAYBE survive, but he would never return to anywhere near normal. The choice was given to put him to sleep peacefully, and after I poured my eyes out talking to and holding him, I called the Doctor back in and he helped Buford find comfort.
(Sorry for that depressing story!)
Since his passing, I've considered finding another puppy MANY times, but just haven't made the jump yet...
I can't wait to meet your pup(s) and look forward to establishing a strong relationship with you and your loved one(s)! My services range from bathing, training, playing, and walking, to providing (hourly/all day/multiple days) sitting & boarding. Anything you're needing can be done!
Will discuss caring for other (Non-Canine) loved ones, depending on availability.
I look forward to earning your trust & business, and hope you have a blessed day!
