Outward Bound is owned and lead by trainer, Kelly Costigan. Kelly and her team are highly skilled handlers, ready and willing to accommodate a variety of needs for each individual pet. We're licensed, bonded and insured and long term members of the world renowned, Pet Sitters International.

A bit about the owner:

Kelly has over 16 years experience in the Pet Care Industry, not including her early career background as a horse trainer. She has 14 years experience as a professional dog groomer under her belt and is a seasoned handler. She currently resides in Fishtown, Philadelphia with her partner, Gert, and their 9 dogs (all rescued). Together, they own and operate The Groove Hound Doggie Daycare & a small independent rescue called Two Girls and 8 Dogs Rescue. They spend much of their time training and rehabilitating dogs in need.

Kelly can always be found with a dog or 3 at her side. During the day, she leads her Outward bound team, pounding the pavement and kicking up dirt with the local K9's. She specializes in dogs with behavioral issues and the "tough" cases.

Dogs are, quite literally, her life. Her business is designed on the expectations and wants, she herself, would demand from those providing services for her "children" (some of whom have VERY special needs). Kelly believes her team and clients should share a extended family-like vibe rather than a stuffy service provider-client relationship. She encourages a fun, positive, respectful and honest relationship between her team and the clients. She is known for her no BS, no smoke and mirrors attitude. Kelly is extremely picky when it comes to cultivating a team of PCS's that share her beliefs & passion for animals. She has the utmost confidence in the team she's chosen and believes in their excellent level of care. When not romping with a pack of dogs, grooming or training, Kelly is busy working on her Masters/PhD in Naturopathic Medicine and Holistic Nutrition.
