Daycare Center
840 Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA 20170
The Montessori School of Herndon utilizes a method that has been refined for over 80 years. In 1907, Dr. Maria Montessori devised a coherent system of education to address the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of children. In the Montessori classroom, children are gradually introduced to new skills according to their own interests, needs, and abilities. Instructions are totally individualized.
In this process, children gain a foundation for later learning. They are truly "learning to learn" and developing an interest and joy in learning, which will stay for the rest of their lives.
Montessori children develop confidence, self-discipline, and independence, as well as an enthusiasm for learning. An organized approach to problem solving and very strong academic skills are developed at an earlier age in comparison to their peers in standard preschools and day care centers.
We serve children 2-12 years old and offer half, full, or extended day options. We also have a summer program and many extra-curricular classes available. Our hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the academic year and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer.
