The Little Growing Tree

We are a Mother & Daughter team dedicated to providing a warm and nurturing early childhood environment. Our 1,100 square foot family child care center is located in its own building, adjacent to the family home. We serve families with children ages 8 weeks to 6 years old with a total capacity of 6. With a 3:1 child to teacher ratio, you can be confident your little one will receive plenty of one on one care.
Our mission is to provide parents who work a school year schedule, such as teachers, flexible and affordable quality childcare. We are closed for the 3 traditional school vacations plus a portion of summer break. Parents do not pay tuition for those weeks or to hold a spot for fall. You've worked hard to position yourself in the education field and you deserve the ability to enjoy these times with your children.
Our program is structured around child directed play, learning and exploration. We believe that children are capable independent learners and it is our job as the teacher to guide them in self discovery. We provide the children with an ever changing variety of open ended materials and activities. Nature, art and sensory experiences are the primary focus of our program.
We are huge advocates of nature based play, and whenever the weather allows you will find us outside. We are excited to be in the process of developing our fenced outdoor space into and exciting outdoor classroom. Here children will be free to wash dirty dishes in the mud kitchen, explore our growing plants and garden, take sail aboard our sandbox ship, have lunch at the picnic tables, paint on the outdoor easels, and build with real natural materials.
Communication and literacy are a large component of early childhood development and our program. We have a library of books, songs, finger plays and circle time activities that take place daily. Special attention is paid to eliminating frustration of emerging talkers, by teaching them the use of simple signing.
Above all our mission is for the children to feel safe and loved. We will always accommodate our day to provide the extra love and attention any child in our care needs
