The Learning Lighthouse is owned by University of California, Santa Barbara graduate, Melissa Clark. She has been tutoring for almost two decades. Melissa works with all ages, from elementary school students to adult learners.

The Learning Lighthouse was formed due to Melissa's desire to continue helping students achieve academic success while caring for her senior poodle, Romeo. Melissa and her furry companion have been a team for seventeen years, and thus, he now needs some extra love and care. The Learning Lighthouse currently only offers online tutoring, but we plan to expand into in-person tutoring.

The Learning Lighthouse's primary goal is to help students gain confidence to achieve their academic goals. Whether a person needs help with homework, preparing for a test, or reinforcing skills like math, writing, or critical thinking, The Learning Lighthouse is here to help! Everyone struggles at some point and may need outside help to get back on track. The Learning Lighthouse is a judge-free zone where any learner of any age is safe to make mistakes and ask questions that they may have been too shy to ask in class. There is no shame in taking steps to better oneself.
