The Learning Curves

Much more than tutoring. Prepare the brain for learning by developing the underlying thinking processes that allow academic skills to flourish. Needs are evaluated for FREE to determine appropriate program recommendations. Programs are matched to the individual's learning styles. Work is one-on-one with students and focuses on strengthening skills needed for academic successes. Homework becomes easier and grades improve.

The services offered are for a variety of learning issues, from those labeled learning disabled, autistic or dyslexic to others who simply struggle with school. They are appropriate for toddlers through adults. Specific programs offered are PACE (Processing And Cognitive Enhancement), The Listening Program, Learning Ears, and Interactive Metronome. Tutoring available, especially in the summer, when I have more time during the day. I work full time as a teacher in the public schools so I am available in the evenings.

--The PACE program is an intense 3 month learning skills program which improves overall performance (concentration, speed, memory, auditory processing, etc).
--The Learning Ears program is a structured yet comprehensive auditory processing program, which also addresses reading fluency and reading comprehension. It lasts at least 5 months.
--Interactive Metronome is an intensive computer-based auditory stimulation program that improves auditory speed, sustained concentration and motor planning.
--The Listening Program is a home-based music-based auditory stimulation program. It is also used as the basis of the Learning Ears program listed above.
--Tutoring will not fix any underlying learning problems, but I am willing to tutor in some cases. However, I prefer to address learning issues first through therapeutic means using one or more of the programs listed.

Most programs are offered at the clinic (my home) near Cashtown, PA (about 8 miles west of Gettysburg PA). Occasionally I visit homes if it is convenient for my schedule. I also can provide Learning Ears over the phone - distance classes.
