In-Home Daycare
Sweet Home, Sweet Home, OR 97386
The Growing Tree Playschool is in the process of becoming a licensed Registered Family Child Care Home through the State of Oregon's Office of Child Care. Prior to obtaining my license I will be available to care for three children.
Some benefits you will discover from home based care are:
Low student to staff ratio.
One on one interaction.
Daily communication and the ability to personalize the care of your child.
Mixed age care.
Curriculum:
Each week has a theme that we will base our planning and activities around. Alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors will be incorporated in lessons all year round. Hand-eye coordination and small muscle manipulation are developed through the children's play, crafts- cutting, coloring, puzzles, stringing, and other such activities. Gross motor activities take place outside, during physical games, music and dramatic play.
Outdoor Play:
Depending on the age-group of children, and the weather, we will spend a significant amount of time outdoors. Nature's setting is a highly stimulating environment because it is constantly changing and allows children to use their senses to feel the wind, see a rainbow, taste a snowflake on their tongue, hear the leaves crunch under their feet or to smell a flower. Combine that with having other children around and your little ones are busy learning how to listen to others, solve problems and suggest new ideas about play, all while enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer. The majority of our outdoor play will be in our large, fenced backyard where children will have the opportunity to have quiet time under a shade tree, assist with garden chores, watch our chickens scratch the ground, and create adventures of their own. The Growing Tree is located within a few blocks of a great community park and walking trails, which will also be utilized from time to time.
Pets/Animals:
We have two Labrador Retrievers, Kalijah and Dakota, that call The Growing Tree their home. They both love children and playing outside. The dogs will usually be in areas of the house that are not used by the children, but on occasion they will come out to play! We also have a small flock of chickens. The children will not be allowed in the chicken enclosure, but may interact with the chickens on occasion. Exposing your child to animals adds to our homey environment and helps children learn responsibilities.
