I have been pet sitting and training friends and family dogs for years and finally decided to make a business out of it. Before I started my business in 2015 I was working for a daycare/training/overnight facility where I increased my skills in both caring and training customers dogs. Once I decided that I wanted to branch out on my own I got additional training and was certified through the Animal Behavior College. The type of training that I do is balanced training where I combine praise/positive reinforcement and some discipline to help clients achieve an enjoyable relationship with their dog by building upon trust, clear communication and healthy leadership skills. I also believe that all dogs are different and that not all dogs respond to the same techniques so I am always adjusting and developing new ways to ensure successful training. I decided to do boarding because I wanted my clients to have somewhere to leave their dogs during vacations that made them feel stress free.
As a child I grew up training my own dogs and horses, which continued into my 20s. During that time I discovered that I had a sincere connection to animals that helped me succeed quicker in the training process. While in college I continued working with animals and eventually started full time at the training/daycare/boarding facility where I increased my training skills and developed customer service skills and pet care skills. I also have found that I have a great intuition for how to solve problems which is now becoming a great tool for helping my clients. My main goal is to help my clients create or adjust behaviors in their dogs so that they can not only love but enjoy their dogs as much as possible.
When boarding dogs in my home I will only take 1 dog family per night to ensure that your dog will get the best care and most attention possible. I allow the dogs to get up on furniture and I also provide dog beds if they want to curl up on the floor. In my home they will be cage free and allowed full access of the house, including the 1 acre fenced in back yard. I will exercise them if physically capable, and if its a hot day I even pull out the baby pool and fill so they can take a dip.
Due to my ability do do boarding in home I will also bring dogs home to do week long training including house breaking for puppies and obedience training for all ages.
