About the business
Hello! My name is Debra Izzo and I am the owner of The Dirty Dawg located at 1867 Newbridge Road in Bellmore, NY.
I would first like to thank those in Bellmore, Merrick, and surrounding areas, who are already my clients; now I would like to introduce myself to those who do not know me.
My career started at The Willow Pet Hotel and then proceeded to Dog Grooming by Rachel where I worked for 11 years. Some of you might know me from Rachel's as "the tall blonde", "the barefoot lady", or "the lady that grooms cats". Some have asked why I would open my grooming shop in Nassau County when I live in Suffolk County. For me the answer is simple, after working in Nassau for 11 years why would I open anywhere else? I have developed great friendships with the residents of Nassau County, and their pets.
My goal is to have a small shop that is personal and friendly. The Dirty Dawg is a family business dedicated to our clients, our motto is
"Bring them in Soiled, Get them back Spoiled!"
Any and all breeds are welcome. We offer a customer referral program as well as other saving opportunities. We also have gift certificates available.
I look forward to meeting new clients and helping you care for your pets.

I brought my 8 month old labradoodle to be groomed here. The owner, Debbie, I found to incredibly unprofessional! She was rude and belittling. She went on and on about how how my puppy had "mats" and then showed me a clump of his hair. It did not look like mats to me. She made it sound as if we do not care for our puppy. This was all in front of my 7 year old son. When we got to the car my son broke down crying asking me why that lady was mean. We love our puppy! At the end of her spiel she said she usually charges $65 but is charging $88 because of these issues. I believe these people are shysters and she said all these things to justify overcharging.

Years ago a different groomer made my Portuguese Water dog look like a poodle. I called Dirty Dawg spoke with Debbie and I knew from that conversation she was the real deal. Debbie groomed Poppy and she looked amazing! Over the years Debbie has taken care of all the dogs that came after Poppy. They are well cared for when in her care and they wag their tails when I bring them back the next time!

We own an eleven year old goldendoodle, named Charlie.
We had taken him to many groomers before finding The Dirty Daug, and Debra.
When you leave your dog with Debra and family, you know your pet is safe and very well taken care of, and beautifully groomed.
We will never go anywhere else.

I have a beautiful Chow named Samson who had his first visit to Dirty Dawg. Normally I have to tranquilize him, but Debbie asked me not to. He hates being lifted up or in a kennel But Debbie and team made him so handsome. She is my groomer for life! I have 2 other dogs who will also be visiting Debbie for their grooming needs.

Debbie Izzo is an outstanding, professional, caring & passionate groomer/pet care provider. She came highly recommended to me by a friend, & I contacted her for her services. Unfortunately, due to my schedule not coinciding with hers due to such late notice, this wonderful lady gladly referred me to another highly recommended facility that I will be using for my beloved furbabies. Most people would not offer up the names & suggestion of their competitors, however, Debbie Izzo of, "The Dirty Dawg", is so confident of herself & was compassionate of my needs, that she went above and beyond and gave me this information freely & without hesitation. I HIGHLY recommend this lady & her services! A+++
