The Dandelion School is a home-based school in Brentwood. Dandelion offers a variety of programs for babies as young as 9 months old, all the way up to children in elementary school. Director, Laura, along with her husband, Genji, have created a unique educational experience where the excitement of school meets the individualization and intimacy of private lessons all in the comfort of a nurturing home environment. At Dandelion, we understand the importance of small group sizes and the power of a low child-to-teacher ratio. We customize curriculum in order to nurture and respect the developing minds and personalities of all our students. For that reason we are influenced by an array of research-based practices, such as social constructivist theory (Vygotsky), the Reggio Emilia approach, the developmental-interaction approach, and Multiple Intelligence theory. We value the beauty and complexity in the way children process their world and strive to help them understand who they are, as well as inspire a lifelong love for learning.
