The Brain Station

The Brain Station preschool and daycare is a place where children of all backgrounds and abilities can play, laugh, and learn together! We strive to create an encouraging and caring environment where children are eager to attend - helping to foster an excitement for school and a lifelong love of learning. The early years of your child's life are an important part of shaping their future. Our program focuses on school readiness and helps to prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond.

Director Nita Jones was an early childhood and elementary teacher for 20 years prior to owning The Brain Station. With experience in both regular and special education, Nita helps our staff create age appropriate lessons each week to aid your child's development.

New for 2014, our facility is now one of two pilot programs in the state of Missouri's new I am Moving, I am Learning initiative, a project aimed at encouraging physical activity in children of all ages. As part of our participation all weekly lesson plans incorporate physical activity into our routines and utilize movement as a tool to aid in education.

Our facility is handicap accessible and well equipped to handle children of all abilities. Our director's history in special education provides a unique level of experience with special needs typically unseen in daycare settings. One of our goals at The Brain Station is to provide children with special needs an opportunity to experience a supportive and positive environment just like everyone else. We believe that children without special needs benefit by exposure to children with different abilities, helping develop a level of acceptance and understanding that is critical in today's society.

Security is our top priority at The Brain Station - our facility is outfitted with a keypad entry system that allows only authorized individuals into our facility, as well as security cameras in all classrooms and childcare areas, providing families with the peace of mind required to attend work or school.

We offer competitive rates and a unique level of customer service. By treating each family and child as individuals, we are better able to meet your needs for childcare. Our state license allows us to accept children from 12 months through 12 years and we offer full and part time programs in all age groups.

We have preschool and school age programs and provide transportation to Festus, Crystal City, and all classes of Herculaneum's Taylor Early Childhood Building.
