This was the first time we boarded our doggy. We chose this place because they guaranteed us that she would have at MINIMUM three hours a day to socialize with other dogs outside. She is a very sweet dog that can get along with any other dog, so they said she would fit right in and shouldn't have any problems. When I picked her up I asked what group she was placed in and how she did. They informed me that she was housed on a "side" of their boarding that had only groups of family dogs and those dogs were not allowed with other dogs. Therefore they gave her ZERO time to socialize or go outside other than to use the bathroom each day... FOR FIVE DAYS!!! We also left five bones for her, one for each day to help keep her occupied when she was in the kennel. When we picked her up they gave us two back, meaning they only gave her one three out of the five days! Especially knowing she was locked up all day long she didn't even have her bones to chew on! When I complain to the manager she did give me a refund but couldn't understand why they wouldn't have just put my dog on one of the other sides for social time. Obviously there's no supervision, reliability, or accountability. This was very upsetting and to top it off she lost about 10 pounds, so who knows whether she was even fed or just so depressed she didn't want to eat! I would never recommend Ameripet to anyone who loves their animal!
