My Philosophy as a child care provider is very simple. In my home, I seek to provide a wholesome environment with Christian leadership to help children grow and develop into mature Christian individuals. I believe that each interaction with a child is an opportunity for growth. A conflict is an opportunity to teach negotiation and listening. An injury to a child is an opportunity to practice empathy. Mealtimes are an opportunity for conversation, manners, and prayer. Strengths are to be built upon; weaknesses are to be learned from, and grown beyond.
Children live up or down to our expectations of them. Therefore, I will encourage, support, and help your child grow in positive self-awareness?living confidently as God's child. Every person, regardless of age, deserves to be treated with respect. As I treat your children with respect, I also have an expectation of respect from them.
Each of us has unique strengths and particular needs. Each child will have something to offer the group in my home. While learning, each of us has something to gain from the company of others. Young children thrive in a stable, predictable environment. So, while I strive to remain flexible to each child's varying needs on a daily basis, our days will follow a consistent pattern. The specifics may change, but the pattern remains reliable and true.
Raising a child is probably the single most challenging role most adults ever take on. At times it can be joyful and exhilarating and at times it can be positively unnerving! At all times it is incredibly significant, valuable, and worthwhile. I am part of the team that works to see this child develop happily and fully. I view myself as an experienced, expert resource to parents, but I am not the child's primary caregiver. Therefore I expect that you take the time to communicate to me your desires and wishes for your child. I hope these are the same goals you choose for your child in order to grow one day as a mature adult. I look to fill both your needs and the needs of your child while they are in my home.
