Teddy's Tots

Hi my name is Dierdre, owner and childcare provider of a Virginia State Licensed Home Daycare in South Riding called Teddy's Tots. I have over 15 years of experience mentoring and caring for children from birth to 10 years of age, and working in daycare centers. I have my degree in Early Childhood Education from Montreal, Canada. I have my training in observation and assessment by using the Work Sampling System. I am CPR/First Aid certified and have my Medication Administration certificate.

I am dedicated to the development of the whole child in a nurturing and fun loving home environment. To help each child reach his/her full potential, I work in partnership with parents and use what I have learned through the years and by continuing to take Educational Classes.

I believe that children learn best by exploring their world through hands-on play. By providing a home away from home, your child will engage in learning activities to promote social and emotional development, language and communication, cognitive development and general knowledge, physical development and motor skills. Children will learn everyday responsible behavior that happens in and around the home, like respect and care of others and the things around them.

My hope is when your infant or young toddler starts at Teddy's Tots you and your child stay with me till they are ready for school. I take pride in preparing your wee ones through the older toddler and preschool age and I want to see them ready to be that confident young child heading off to school.
