I am a teacher who will be staying home with my children next year. Three years ago I struggled with finding a nurturing and affordable daycare for my daughter, Lydian. Initially, we tried a daycare center and quickly learned ten infants squeezed into a room with cribs lined up in a noisy corner was not the right fit for our family. In desperation I reached out to the entire staff in my school district and found Miss Nancy. My children stayed in a home away from home and Miss Nancy provided structure, routine, daily walks, healthy organic foods, they learned through creative play, music, arts and crafts, baking and story time. Each morning our little ones would jump out of bed and ask us when it was time to go to Miss Nancy's.

Our family was deeply saddened to leave Miss Nancy as we moved across the country to Maine. As I reflect on our amazing experiences with her I feel the best way to honor all she has done for us is to pay it forward.

If you are a teacher who lives or works in the Cumberland Center area and you are hoping to avoid the daycare center world, I would love to care for 1-2 little ones during the school year. I will provide a nurturing, structured environment with healthy organic foods, daily outside time (weather permitting), story time, creative play, music, arts and crafts, early childhood learning opportunities and lots of love. To further pay it forward in honor of Miss Nancy I will also provide this care for $5.00 per hour and will not require deposits or payment during school vacations or breaks.

Raising children and educating young minds is the most important thing we do for the future. Let's do it together!
