My name is Tara and I have over 10 years experience working with children. I have been working as a teacher for the past 4 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, I completed two student teaching assignments and I worked in a classroom setting as an assistant for 3 years. I have also worked as a private tutor and a babysitter before working in the classroom.

I attended Adelphi University where I received a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education as well as Early Childhood Special Education. With this degree I am New York State Certified to teach and work with children ages birth - 2nd grade. I have first aid training and I am CPR certified.

My passion is working with children and being able to make a positive impact on their lives. Currently I am employed as a preschool teacher in a classroom with 13 kids ages 2-5. Although I love and have enjoyed teaching in the classroom environment I have decided to leave the classroom to pursue a dream of mine to work with a smaller group of children out of my home, located in Lake Ronkonkoma. Although this can be considered a daycare service, my goal is to teach the children in my care during the day and provide a fun, safe environment for them to learn and grow. I plan on providing daily age appropriate activities for the children to participate in. Some examples include reading stories, outdoor play, music, and arts & crafts.
