Greetings Parents, families and guardians,
I am Johnny McDuffie owner and founder of SWAY. As a director of Social Service, I have been at the forefront of initiatives that have positioned the nursing department to support significant growth, and have turned around floundering and problematic divisions to regain the respect of the residents we serve. I have conceived new ideas to strengthen core services to consumers, project-managed new infrastructure initiatives, and maintained morale despite periods of instability and change. Before entering my masters in clinical psychology program I commenced in 5 graduate courses (20 credits) for health administration (Collaboration, Communication, and Case Analysis for Health Care Master's Learners, Health Care Policy and Law, Health Care Finance and Reimbursement, Health Care Economics and Decision Making, Strategic Health Care Planning) to equip myself with the competency to lead and direct any business conducive to health care, mental health/human service. Within these courses I learned:
Providing strategic vision, planning, and leadership while diagnosing gaps in healthcare and mitigating risk; ensuring medical service excellence in areas including occupational medicine, immunization, emergency treatment, disease prevention/treatment, infection control, routine care, and health promotion/protection.
Developing, implementing, and leading process and procedure improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and patient experiences while measurably reducing expenses.
Demonstrating superior communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as strong program management and team leadership/coordination talents.
I am also a student doctor in which I will finalize my clinical program in the summer of 2020.
My greatest achievement has been supporting the daily life of a teenager diagnosed with autism and supporting my mom taking care of my sister who was born with cerebral palsy. I possess a thorough knowledge and expert practical use of counseling theories with a preference toward a cognitive behavioral approach. I have also specialized in helping social workers develop, organize, and behavior programs to thwart and resolve problems on the subject of substance abuse, human relationships, rehabilitation, and adult daycare. Warranting that consumers identify problems, understand triggers and adjust their behaviors is my prime attention in mental health.
