Sunshine Kids Academy

Sunshine Kids Academy is a home based preschool with both half day and full day programs. It is our mission to provide a high-quality preschool and childcare program at a competitive rate. Our half-day preschool program is from 8:30am-12:30pm and includes lunch. Our full day program is from 7:30am-5:30pm, with some flexibility if needed. We follow a daily schedule to allow children to feel secure and know what to expect at preschool. As a home based preschool we offer small class size and are able to customize your child 's learning experiences to best meet their needs. While some children are working on hand writing others might be working on letter recognition, we are able to accommodate both within the same setting. This also allows children to receive lots of individual attention.

The Facility: Unlike many other in home childcare facilities we have the entire main floor set up as a preschool classroom. Our classroom has a similar set up to a childcare center, with the feel of a home environment. We do not have a T.V in our preschool, so rest assured your child will not be sitting around watching T.V. all day. Our classroom is spacious and bright with plenty of natural light. Everything in the room is at the children 's level so that our little preschoolers can easily access what they need promoting independence. The children can also enjoy the outdoors in a large fully fenced yard.

Curriculum: Making learning fun is the goal for our curriculum. We believe that children learn best through their own experiences and creative play, this is why our classroom is designed with everything at the children 's level. Our program is designed to promote the physical, emotional, social and cognitive development of each child. Through hands on experiences children are encouraged to learn how to make decisions, interact socially, follow directions, and become curious and interested in the world around them. Theme based learning centers is how we present the curriculum to the children these include building blocks, make believe and dress up, home living, reading, music and movement, puzzles, science, art, manipulatives, sand and water exploration, math and writing. Both child directed and Teacher directed activates are included in our program. A new theme is introduced monthly. Included in our curriculum is Alphafriends, and Handwriting Without Tears. We provide high quality healthy, homemade meals and snacks as we believe nutrition is important to learning.
