About the business
Students from the Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program receive our teaching services at no cost to the parent. That is because the expenses for our teachers are paid by the school district. Each SES student qualifies for a specific number of free tutoring hours. In the last round of our SES tutoring, the parents who chose us found that their student’s test achievement increased by 10 to 25%.
For the purposes of SES, we are identified by the state as Success in Reading, Math, and Music. Low income families might participate in SES if their child attends a Title I school that has been designated by the state to be in need of improvement for more than one year. There may be additional qualifications for the SES program at some districts. Those districts may require that students participate in a free or reduced lunch program at school before they can receive the free tutoring. Each school district only has spaces in SES for a certain number of students.
The free tutoring or remedial help for students can include subjects such as reading, language arts and math. Our SES program tutors can visit the student’s home, or meet with each of them in a library, community center, or our offices.
Your student can receive help before or after school. Be sure to check with your school district to find out whether your child may qualify for free SES tutoring.
