Nestled in the Martinez hills just a 4 minute drive from highway 4, Story Garden provides full-day care for children ages 2 to 5 years. With a focus on nature, imaginative play, and social-emotional growth, we aim to prepare children for their next stage in life while also keeping the joy and magic in childhood.
Founder and head teacher, Melissa has over 10 years of experience teaching preschool at centers in San Francisco and the East Bay. Melissa also teaches parenting and anger management classes for adults.
Our program is play-based with inspiration taken from Reggio Emilia, the project approach, and forest school curriculum. We spend our days pretending to be pirates, digging for worms, building forts, painting under a canopy of trees, and singing silly songs--all while learning skills that will prepare us for the next stage in life.
