My sister and I have been running our own in home daycare/Preschool for 2 years. We have both worked at daycare centers for 5 years before opening ours. Just like a preschool center we have a schedule, in the morning we do circle time where we sing songs, teach them the ABCs, colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year and more.
