Stoney Creek is proud to announce that we are a PBIS School!

PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. PBIS practices are founded on the assumption and belief that all children can exhibit appropriate behavior. By teaching, modeling, practicing, and rewarding appropriate behavior and having clear consequences for targeted behaviors, more time will be spent teaching in the classroom rather than redirecting students. PBIS is a multi-tiered system that helps to enhance social and behavioral outcomes for every single child in the classroom. PBIS is rooted in evidence based practices which adults use to respond to the interventions needed to address behavioral and academic competence for each and every student.

At Stoney Creek Elementary our student s success is tracked by using a color system. The color chart begins from red (which is a rough day), yellow, orange (which is a good day), green and purple (which is an outstanding; above and beyond day).

Students are also given Golden Cardinals when they are seen being extra safe, responsible or scholarly. Each week the cardinal names are drawn and the winners get to pick from the treasure box. Ask your Cardinal more about these awesome tickets!
