I went to San Jose State University for a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. I have 3 years of tutoring experience with students ranging from elementary to middle school. I would work in a classroom with about twenty students, or a 2:1 ratio. Homework help, Math, Writing, and Vocabulary were the main subjects that we focused on. Lessons were already planned the week before, so I had enough time to focus on helping my students progress. My approach to tutoring is that I tailor my teaching style to the needs of the student. Building rapport with my students is important as well as giving positive affirmations and feedback.
