our program:
Here at Step One, we truly believe in creating an environment which is conducive to curiosity, creativity, and altruism and we think a simple but organized environment in which natural material play a pivotal role best serves this purpose and is productive for learning and educating. Most of our teaching materials are Montessori based.
We have also taken advantage of Waldorf educational methods to encourage and nurture creativity and imagination in children. We also employ the Reggio Emilia approach to develop a curriculum that is reflective of our mindfulness of the children's different personalities. Having these differences in mind, we strive for instilling into children profound respect and understanding for the world they live in.

I am an experienced teacher. My passion is working with children and love being immersed in their world. A dream came true when I could operate Step One Child Care so that I can create a nurturing, creative, and joyful environment for children.
I was a teacher at Golestan Kids, a multilingual international elementary school, in Berkeley, CA since 2016. Prior to coming to Golestan, I was a teacher in Iran after earning a degree in communication. I am very passionate about art and childhood education, and I am determined to expand my knowledge in this field.
