Sprouts Family Daycare

Sprouts Family Daycare offers child care services, for children ages six weeks to four years old, in a nurturing and educational setting. The owner/provider, Heather D., has twenty-one years of experience in various child care settings, including toddler and preschool classrooms, as well as providing nanny services for families of multiples. Along with over a decade of experience, Heather also has a Bachelors degree in both Early Education and Elementary Education.

At Sprouts, we believe that children learn best through play. The curriculum emphasizes learning through play in four developmental areas: Physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and literacy/ language. Each day, the curriculum emphasizes growth and exploration in everyone of these developmental areas. Children are encouraged to participate in activities that strengthen phonemic awareness, print awareness, letter recognition, and many other areas of literacy and language development. The use of sensory exploration, such as sand and water play, is encouraged on a daily basis, along with art immersion- whether in clay, paint, or perhaps mixed media materials we gathered from the garden.

Along with gardening, science experiments, building, music and dance, children will also be able to express emotions and learn important social skills through dramatic play and games. Outdoor play and exploration also occurs on a daily basis.
