About
Sprout Academy offers childcare focused on nurturing the individual child in a home environment. Toddler, and preschool programs foster development through experience and play.
A preschool program is provided for children ages 2-5 at no additional cost and is based on the North Carolina Preschool Early Learning Standards. Activities incorporate arts/crafts, music, stories, science, early math concepts, and letter, shape, and number recognition to teach the following objectives: pondering, processing, and applying experiences; curiosity, information-seeking, and eagerness; risk-taking, problem-solving, and flexibility; persistence, attentiveness, and responsibility; imagination, creativity, and invention.
The sole childcare provider, Amy Turner, is a former educator with fifteen years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in special education. Amy stays at home with her 3-year and ten-month old children, who also attend Sprout Academy.
