What We Offer:

Spicebush Montessori School provides a comprehensive Montessori education tailored specifically for children aged 3 to 6 years old. Our program is designed to support the unique developmental needs of each child through individualized learning plans that foster their natural curiosity and growth. In addition to our academic year program, we also offer an engaging summer camp that blendsfun with educational activities, ensuring year-round learning and development.

Our school stands out due to our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. We utilize a Family Individualized Tuition (FIT) model to ensure our Montessori education is available to families of varying income levels. We also offer transportation stipends to support families in need farther from the school and we offer subsidy to our lowest income families. Spicebush is Quaker-aligned and therefore aims to embody the Quaker values of SPICES: social justice, peace, inclusion, community, environment, and simplicity. Furthermore, our non-discrimination policy ensures that all children, regardless of race, gender, or background, have equal access to our programs and resources. Teaching Methods:

At Spicebush Montessori, we adhere to the Montessori method, which emphasizes child-centered and child-directed learning within a carefully prepared environment. Our classroom features mixed-age groups, allowing children to learn from one another and develop strong social skills. The curriculum is supported by specially-educated teachers who observe each child’s development and introduce materials and activities that match their individual needs and interests. This approach helps children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Combined, the teacher leaders of Spicebush have over 20 years experience supporting children and are accredited by the American Montessori Society.

Facilities:

Our property sits on five acres of land shared by the Concord Friends Meeting House. Outside we have a large playground for children to use during school hours and families to visit after hours. We also have a community garden that the teachers, children, and families help maintain seasonally. The facilities are meticulously designed to create a "children’s house" that is both accessible and inviting. From child-sized tables and chairs to materials that are concrete, didactic, and self-correcting, every aspect of our environment is crafted to support independent exploration and learning. The high-quality, beautiful materials in our classrooms encourage children to engage with challenging concepts in a hands-on manner

Additional Information:

Spicebush Montessori School also offers summer camp for families after the school year ends. Our summer camps features themes such as farm life, gardening, and insect investigations, providing children with unique opportunities to explore nature and develop new interests.
