About
I am a 27 year old college student working in Chula Vista. I currently supervise a non-profit before and after-school program called STRETCH through South Bay YMCA. I oversee 85+ students on a daily basis, ages ranging from K-6th grade. Our program consists of 5-6 blocks each day which vary from homework help, art, STEAM, outdoor recreation, team building, and Lit Art. I have been working for the Y for a little over 3 years and have been a Site Supervisor for 1 year. My journey within the Y has been rewarding due to the relationships I have been able to build with the students. I enjoy being a part of creating a safe and structured environment for the students, as well as helping them improve their social skills, as well as literacy skills. I also have 1 1/2 years of experience working with preschool aged children. (2-4 years) I was a teacher's assistant in a small preschool, where I helped plan curriculum, led circle time, helped introduce numbers, letters and songs to children, as well as changed diapers several times a day. I am CPR/first aide certified, and have been to many trainings on the developmental growth of our youth.
