Sonomarin Tutoring is a local tutoring service for Sonoma and Marin County California students. Our tutors are credentialed California teachers who have taught in both private and public California schools for as many as 25 years. We have the expertise you are seeking to guide you through the challenges you face in your high school and middle school studies. We offer math tutoring, history tutoring, and English tutoring, as well as college essay coaching, PSAT/SAT/ACT prep, organizational strategies and learning difference assistance. We have all enjoyed being classroom teachers, but have decided to embark on a new adventure. We have banded together to create a powerful tutoring resource for you. We love learning and helping others learn, and are dedicated to this endeavor. If your goal is to complete your studies and learn all you can in the process, then we can help. I have 25 years of classroom teaching experience and 30 years of tutoring experience. I have been a math teacher, a robotics coach (15 years), a department chair (6 years) and a mentor to both students and my fellow teachers. I started this tutoring business because it allows me to focus on the best and most rewarding part of teaching: helping students learn.
Like the other tutors who work with me, I hold a valid California Secondary Education Teaching Credential. We have taught in large public schools with as many as 40 students per classroom, and in private schools with extensive extra-curricular programs and activities. If something is not going well for you in the classroom, chances are we have successfully navigated several different students through it before. And we can help you, too.

Tammy helped me through my math classes during all four years that I was in high school. She was excellent at guiding me in a way that would allow me to arrive at the answer myself rather than being told it explicitly. I passed every single math class that I took in high school with an A, and received a 4 on both the Calculus AB and BC exams. Not to mention the fact that she was very funny and pleasant to work with!

Great tutoring! Very good at making difficult concepts easy to understand. Always patient, friendly, and makes sure that the student has a solid grasp of the material. Would absolutely recommend!
