Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rachael. I started Snouts in the City, a pet care service based out of Pittsburgh, PA. I currently have 2 dogs (Penny & Ripley - pictured right!) and 3 cats (Alf, Boo, and Peanut)! I have worked in the pet care/service industry for the last 4 years. I started my career path by working in the Adoptions department at a local animal shelter for three and a half years. I then chose to take a different route by working at a dog daycare/boarding facility. During my time spent working at both places, I was able to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments and learn so much about the world of dog/cat behavior. I have done numerous dog behavior evaluations and have been trained on how to handle certain dog behaviors (leash reactivity/pulling, resource guarding, jumping/mouthing, etc) as well as attended seminars on such subjects - not too mention just constantly reading and educating myself on the subject of animal behavior (I love Patricia McConnell!). I am also a proud supporting member of the IAABC​ (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants) and trained in pet CPR & first aid! I have done pet sitting off and on for these last few years, which I've now decided to make my full-time job! I know how important pets are and how they need care and attention. Maybe your schedule doesn't allow for you to spend as much time with them, that's what I'm here for! Snouts in the City is not just inclusive to dogs - but to all types of pets including cats, reptiles, bunnies, birds, whoever! I cater to the east end and even east of the city of Pittsburgh!
