About the business
I started Smithfield Tutoring in 2010 delivering private and small group tutoring primarily in High School Math and Science and SAT Prep. I have a BS in Mathematics from Monmouth University and two graduate degrees in engineering from MIT. I tutored while I was in college and I have tutored children on and off through the years before opening Smithfield Tutoring.
Initially, I meet with parents and their child to determine the student's strengths and weaknesses and tailor a long term program to suit the student's needs. Many children need help with organization, homework and test prep and strengthening these skills is the foundation of the program. I have found that small group tutoring is most effective to learning.
This fall I am delivering an SAT prep class geared towards juniors. Call for more information.
